Also, make sure each person in the house knows who is in charge of the coffee machine! My husband and I often double fill the filter, which can be corrected if noticed BEFORE the water drips, and, oh yes, we often have the water flowing all over the counter and floors as we try to double fill the tank with water, and lastly, oh disaster, if one does not put the pot on the exact spot, we wake up to a brown swimming pool all over the floor and counter! Now that is fun @ 4 AM on the East Coast! Have you tried to do all most of the steps the night before, and use the timer?
